Suit corporate finance or mgmt. consulting professionals

Infrastructure asset management, analysis and reporting

Well-regarded brand with growing asset portfolio

With a mandate for growth in their unlisted infrastructure and energy asset portfolio, this Melbourne-based fund manager seeks to appoint a capable Investment Analyst to their team.

The Unlisted Infrastructure Investments team is involved in the acquisition and management of large-scale infrastructure, energy and renewables assets including ports, airports, tollroads, rail, utilities assets and wind generation facilities. These assets offer a steady, low risk return to their institutional investor base, predominately comprised of superannuation and pension funds.

The Investment Analyst plays an important role in the Investment team and is well-positioned to strengthen their understanding of the infrastructure and energy sectors to forge a successful career in funds management. The Investment Analyst’s role is broad; positioned in the front office investment team they will be responsible for providing support to senior team members with respect to the ongoing asset management and performance reporting requirements of portfolio assets. Put simply, this means periodically reviewing each of the fund’s assets (seaports / airports / roads / etc.), and assessing their respective profitability and capital returns for dissemination to key internal and external stakeholders (such as investors). In addition to this, the Investment Analyst will be involved in any number of asset-level management tasks such as valuations, capital structure analysis, financial modelling & forecasting, board reporting, stakeholder management and a raft of other ad-hoc analytical tasks.

Applicants will possess a relevant tertiary degree, likely in Commerce or Engineering and have outstanding academic transcripts. It is likely applicants will be working towards a post-graduate qualification such as the Chartered Accounting or Chartered Financial Analyst program. A role for candidates with 1-3 years of prior work experience gained in an investment Bank, Chartered Accounting firm (corporate finance team), Management Consulting firm or other Corporate Advisor, applicants with prior exposure to infrastructure or energy will be looked upon favourably. Last but by no means least, we seek applicants with a curious mind; with a real interest in “the way things work” and having a long-term career in the infrastructure and energy sectors!

Please direct your application to Nicolas Boston at Numbers Executive or for a confidential discussion, please contact Nicolas on +61 3 8399 0111.

You must have the right to work in Australia in order to apply for this position and have the ability to attend interviews in Melbourne Australia.
