Our client is a well-known funds manager with a direct portfolio of diversified infrastructure and energy investments. Currently they are sourcing a capable Associate to join their team here in Melbourne.

An Associate is directly responsible for the management of portfolio assets in addition to having involvement in the acquisition or divestment of assets.  On a day to day basis this would likely involve project managing the quarterly valuation process, maintaining portfolio level and asset level financial models, undertaking cash flow analysis with particular emphasis on capital requirements and debt serviceability levels, interpreting board papers and having involvement in strategic decisions at asset level. Furthermore, the Associate is responsible for imparting knowledge onto (and managing) Analysts within the team.

The successful applicant will have prior sector experience, combined with the aforementioned quantitative financial modelling skills and qualitative influencing and project management skills. It is likely that this experience has been gained in an advisory environment such as Investment Banking / Advisory, Big 4 Corporate Finance, Project Finance Advisory or Funds Management.

In addition to the relevant work experience, the successful applicant will have the relevant academic qualifications, likely a mix of Commerce, Engineering and a post-graduate qualification such as the Chartered Financial Analyst certification of a diploma of Chartered Accounting.
